Attorney Williams
Sonya Denise Williams is the founder and Lead Attorney of Williams VetLaw Group, PLLC. She also works closely as Of-Counsel to the MilVet Law Firm.
Mrs. Williams is married to an active-duty Navy submariner, and her family proudly represents a legacy of service, with her father being a U.S. Air Force veteran and her two brothers being U.S. Army veterans. This deep-rooted commitment to duty fueled her passion to become a Veteran's attorney. Mrs. Williams is also a dedicated Mother to a 9-year-old Power Ranger.
Prior to her legal career, Mrs. Williams dedicated five years to the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman and nearly three years as a Legal Clerk. During her service, she deployed twice with the iconic aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69). Following her time on the Mighty Ike, she made a difference in the lives of others by working in Legal Assistance at the Regional Legal Services Office (RLSO) in Norfolk, Virginia.
After her service, Mrs. Williams pursued her education at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, where she achieved a B.S. in Sociology (Cum Laude) and a B.S. in Criminal Justice (Cum Laude). She then attended the David A. Clarke School of Law (UDC Law), graduating Cum Laude in 2023. During her law school journey, she interned at the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, while also contributing her efforts to the Tax Litigation Clinic, Whistleblower Protection Clinic, and Community Development Law Clinics at UDC Law. Recognized for her commitment to community service, Mrs. Williams received multiple awards, including the esteemed Edgar Cahn Community Service Award.
Driven by a deep passion for aiding veterans, Mrs. Williams proudly embraced a full-circle career path dedicated to serving our nation's heroes.
